About Click Speed Test
A click speed test measures how many times you can click in a fixed window, expressed as clicks per second. Ten seconds is the standard interval because it is long enough that technique matters and short enough that stamina does not dominate. The clock starts on your first click rather than when the test loads, so a slow start costs you nothing.
How to Play
Tap the arena as fast as you can for ten seconds.
Click anywhere in the arena as fast as you can for ten seconds.
Objective & Winning Rules
Record the highest clicks-per-second average you can sustain across ten seconds.
Click Speed Test Rules
The test runs for exactly ten seconds. The clock starts on your first click, not when the page loads, so there is no penalty for taking a moment to get ready. Every click inside the arena is counted until the timer expires.
Your score is total clicks divided by ten, giving clicks per second. It is stored multiplied by a hundred so that two decimal places survive as a whole number, which is why the raw score looks larger than your CPS.
There is no penalty for pausing and no bonus for rhythm. The only thing measured is how many discrete clicks you register inside the window.
Click Speed Test Strategy
Know the three techniques
Ordinary clicking with one finger tops out around six to eight CPS for most people. Jitter clicking — tensing the forearm so the hand vibrates and the finger bounces on the button — reaches ten to fourteen but is tiring and hard to control. Butterfly clicking alternates two fingers on the same button and can exceed fifteen. Which one is appropriate depends on why you are measuring.
Start before you feel ready
The clock begins on your first click, so hesitation costs nothing — but many players spend the first second settling into a rhythm they could have found beforehand. Do a practice run, find the motion, then start the real attempt already moving at speed.
Support your wrist, not your fingers
Speed comes from a small, fast, repeated motion, and that motion is far more consistent when the wrist is resting on a surface. Clicking with an unsupported arm forces the larger muscles to stabilise while the small ones try to move quickly, which is exactly the wrong division of labour.
Watch the counter, not the clock
Glancing at the remaining time breaks rhythm, and rhythm is most of the score over ten seconds. The counter tells you everything you need — if it is climbing steadily you are doing fine. Check the clock once, near the end, if at all.
Understand what your mouse is doing
Some mice have debounce times that ignore a second click arriving within a few milliseconds of the first, which caps your measurable rate no matter how fast your hand is. If your CPS plateaus at a suspiciously round number regardless of technique, the hardware rather than the hand is the limit.
Do not confuse this with a game skill
High CPS matters in a narrow set of contexts — some Minecraft PvP mechanics most famously — and is otherwise a curiosity. Sustained fast clicking is also a genuine strain risk. Treat it as a benchmark to beat, not a habit to build.

Click Speed Test — Frequently Asked Questions
What is a good CPS score?
Ordinary clicking puts most people between five and eight clicks per second. Nine to eleven is achievable with practice, above twelve is unusual, and anything past fifteen almost always involves butterfly or drag clicking.
What is jitter clicking?
Tensing the forearm so the hand vibrates rapidly, letting the finger bounce on the mouse button. It reaches roughly ten to fourteen CPS but is difficult to aim during and uncomfortable to sustain.
What is butterfly clicking?
Alternating two fingers on the same mouse button so each press comes from a different finger. It can exceed fifteen CPS and is banned on many game servers because it blurs the line between manual input and an autoclicker.
Why is the test ten seconds long?
Ten seconds is long enough that technique and rhythm decide the result rather than a lucky burst, and short enough that stamina is not the limiting factor. It is also the interval most published CPS figures use, which makes results comparable.
Does my mouse affect my score?
Yes. Some mice enforce a debounce delay that silently ignores very rapid repeat clicks, capping your measurable rate. If your score plateaus at the same number regardless of technique, that is usually why.
Is fast clicking bad for my hands?
Sustained high-rate clicking, and jitter clicking in particular, puts real strain on the forearm and wrist. It is fine as an occasional benchmark. It is not something to practise for hours.
